/Mother’s Day has a special meaning to Alaskans. Moose Mama’s creator, Dana DeBernardi, is a good example. She saves orphan moose calves to be released to populate Alaska’s moose population. The 2021 Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival in Homer, AK features 22 million birds who come to mate and nest. (We fact-checked this and it’s true- we counted them!)
